In an audio clipping in possession of Mail Today, Bhanwari tells an associate that a deal was struck by a Delhi-based broker whom she refers to as the "Delhi party". This person is thought to have got hold of copies of the sleaze video.

According to evidence available, when the nurse realised that the deal had already been struck and the payment made, she wanted to warn Maderna. Bhanwari's fear was that the CD was likely to be made public soon and she would then be implicated.

Not only did the missing woman know the people striking the deal, she also knew who the middleman was.

Evidence also suggests that within two days of the deal, Maderna was aware that the CD - which he thought was only with Bhanwari - had reached other hands.

Later, she desperately contacted Maderna's former deputy in the Jodhpur zila parishad Sahi Ram Vishnoi. Bhanwari wanted Vishnoi to persuade Maderna to have a word with her so that she could divulge the truth to him. Vishnoi, who is believed to be holding the key to the entire sex scandal, has now been declared an absconder and there is a reward of Rs. 1 lakh on him.

Mahipal Maderna
Sacked Rajasthan minister Mahipal Maderna.
In the audio clip, she is heard telling Vishnoi that public health engineering department contractor Sohan Lal, currently in judicial custody, had struck the deal with the alleged Delhi-based high-profile power broker through one Sunil Gurjar and that the payment had already been made. She reiterates that Sohan Lal somehow got hold of duplicate CDs but the original was still with her.

Significantly, later the nurse received Vishnoi's phone call when she was talking to Congress MLA Malkhan Singh's sister Indira Vishnoi on another phone. As Bhanwari kept Indira's call on hold, the latter taped her side of the conversation.

Singh is also a suspect in the case. Both Indira and her brother have been grilled by the CBI several times during the past week.

It transpires that Sunil, whom Bhanwari referred to as the middleman between the Delhi-based buyer of the CD and Sohan Lal, is the adopted son of Puducherry's ex-lieutenant governor and former minister of Rajasthan Govind Singh Gurjar.

In another development, the Rajasthan High Court asked the CBI to expedite the probe so that it did not go the way of the unsolved Arushi Talwar double murder case.

Justice Govind Mathur and Justice N. K. Jain of the court's Jodhpur bench asked the investigating agency to submit the status report by November 24. The court order came in response to the habeas corpus petition filed by Bhanwari's husband Amar Chand, who accused Maderna of abduction and possible murder.
