New Year's Eve in Times Square. BY TREVOR KAPP HUNDREDS OF thousands of New Year's Eve revelers packed Times Square to cheer the arrival of 2012 on a night when the weather and

new studio unveilings and design goals join exercise wishes and holiday plans in the thoughts we've compiled below.
browse through the complete list, or click on an individual's name to see what (s)he has in store for the coming year,
alongside a project that shows where (s)he's been in 2011.

here at designboom we have a resolution of our own:

in 2012 we become a teenager, finally 13 years old. this year, we want to take a serious look at what makes us who we are today...
even if that means rebelling just a little bit from what we were (like any proper teenager!). a new site will be rolling out
in the next couple weeks, and we have a lot of exciting things in store for the rest of the year. of course our mission is always
to celebrate the best of art, architecture, and design; and we're looking forward to what 2012 will bring.

Auckland Celebrates New Years Eve

Millions of revellers across the world are celebrating the end of 2011 and the start of 2012.

In New Zealand a firework display off Auckland's Sky Tower at midnight (1100 GMT) saw in the new year. In Australia a spectacular fireworks display was held in Sydney's harbour.

The South Pacific islands of Samoa and Tokelau were the first to see in 2012 after skipping a day by jumping west across the international dateline. The change effectively erases Friday 30 December 2011 from their calendars.

In Brazil, revellers are set to enjoy a fireworks display on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro.

Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to pack into New York's Times Square for the ceremonial ball-dropping at midnight.

In the UK, hundreds of thousands of people will gather in central London where large numbers are expected to watch the London Eye fireworks display. The South Bank area around the London Eye will be one of the focal points for the celebrations, with Trafalgar Square another popular place for revellers to gather.

Up to 250,000 people are expected to watch the Thames-side fireworks. There will be 12,000 fireworks, producing 50,000 projectiles, launched during the display, which is triggered by Big Ben's chimes and lasts for 11 minutes and 15 seconds.

All travel in London will be free from 11.45pm until 4.30am on New Year's Day. Road closures will be in place in the city from 4pm.

British Transport police have advised travellers to expect queues on their journey home from the centre of London.

Big crowds are also expected in other cities, including Edinburgh, where about 80,000 revellers are expected to attend the world famous Hogmanay street party. Primal Scream are headlining this year's sold-out Concert in the Gardens against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle.

The New Year's Eve British weather is forecast to be mild but some rain is expected.

FINAL SCORE: India all out for 169 (chasing 292). Sharma 6 not out

The fourth day's play at the MCG didn't quite pan out entirely as expected but the triumphant Australians won't be complaining! The home nation has won the first Test by 122 runs to gain the early advantage in this series and the chase for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

On behalf of Rohan Connolly and myself (Scott Spits), it's been a pleasure to share this live blog with all of you over the past four days. Rohan will be back in the chair on day one at the SCG next week, so don't forget to jump right in from the first ball.

See you all next week.

If you wish to comment on this blog, please turn off the auto-refresh function by clicking on the 'off' button above.

Teams: Australia: Michael Clarke (capt), David Warner, Ed Cowan, Shaun Marsh, Ricky Ponting, Michael Hussey, Brad Haddin, Peter Siddle, James Pattinson, Nathan Lyon, Ben Hilfenhaus, Mitchell Starc (12th man). India: MS Dhoni (capt), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, VVS Laxman, Ravichandran Ashwin, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav. (12th man not named).

4:59pm - That's all for our live blog coverage of the First Test. It's been an absorbing match with many twists and turns. I'm thoroughly looking forward to the rest of the series and what will unfold in the next few weeks.

4:53pm
- Pattinson gets player-of-the-match honours. Six wickets for the match for the emerging star ... he's bound to be a fixture in the Australian team for some time yet.

4:47pm
- The Australians are a relieved lot. What a Test victory. At the start of the day most observers expected a fight to the finish but, in the end, the Australians won comfortably. Many heroes have emerged but second innings knocks from Ponting and Hussey basically saved Australia's bacon. Then the paceman tore through the Indian top order. Again.

4:40pm
- THE FINAL WICKET! Australia wins the first Test. Yadav is out holing out in the deep off the bowling of Lyon. Warner takes an acrobatic catch just inside the rope at long on. That was just two balls after the same batsman had cleared the fence in the same spot with a massive shot.

4:28pm -
Some decent chin music for the tailenders. Don't the Australians just want to wrap the match up? Pitch the ball up and knock over the cage! Instead they are relying on a form of intimidation.

4:15pm - ANOTHER WICKET!
The second collapse of the innings, but this time it's the tail. Pattinson gets Dhoni, the last of the recognised batsmen. An inside edge from Dhoni cannons into the stumps. Not the first time this match for that form of dismissal.

4:06pm - WICKET!
Victory edges closer for Australia. Pattinson grabs Khan's wicket. Batsmen gets a thick inside edge onto his thigh pad and the catch is taken by Cowan. Pattinson's third wicket and Cowan's third catch for the innings.

3:52pm -
New batsman Khan yet to get off the mark. Feeling around this game now of what changes either team needs to make for the next Test ... really only a few days away. I can't see Australia making any changes, assuming that Shane Watson is still unavailable. Your thoughts dear readers?

3:39pm - WICKET!
Just when you start asking the wrong questions. Ashwin the dasher is the one to depart. Siddle grabs another wicket, removing the Indian with a short ball. Ashwin fended off the short ball, but it popped up for Cowan to take an easy catch.

3:32pm
- Back in the seat. Another 50 runs here from the Dhoni/Ashwin combination and some questions might be asked. At the very least Hilfy and Pattinson might be rushed back into the bowling line-up. Pronto.

3:12pm -
THAT'S TEA. And what a stunning session of cricket. India went to lunch one wicket down and two hours later their second innings is in shambles. Almost all the big names are back in the pavilion. India 6/117 after 33 overs.

3:09pm
- Three boundaries in one over for India. Ashwin not going to go down wondering, reaching 27 not out from 28 deliveries. Siddle felt this wrath that over, putting a dent on impressive figures.

3:04pm -
India creeps past the 100-run mark and this pairing has put on 24 runs for the seventh wicket. Tea is getting closer.

2:57pm
- Nathan Lyon gets his opportunity. The three quicks currently have two wickets each. Let's see who can close out the innings and stake their claim for man-of-the-match honours.

2:44pm
- Excuse me while I catch my breath. India has collapsed like the proverbial pack of cards. It has been Australia-like in some respects (at least reminiscent of events in recent weeks). Tendulkar started to chase runs as he ran out of partners at the other end. Then he became the next to go. Bring on the SCG ....

2:39pm - YET ANOTHER WICKET!
This time they get Tendulkar. Siddle removes the maestro caught flashing outside off stump with the catch taken by Hussey in the fourth slip region. It's official now ladies and gentlemen. Australia will win this Test. It's only a matter of time now.

2:33pm
- What a dramatic period since the drinks break. India loses three wickets to turn the match completely in Australia's favour. Bowlers are fired up. Hilfenhaus, Pattinson and Siddle all getting in on the act. I really didn't see this unfolding like this ...

2:25pm - ANOTHER WICKET!
India five wickets down. Surely Australia can't lose from here. Kohli goes for a golden duck. Hilfenhaus was the bowler. India 5/69 chasing 292 for win. Captain Dhoni to join Sachin at the wicket in an hour of desperate need.

2:21pm
- WICKET! Big trouble now for India. Laxman goes out cheaply and Tendulkar may run out of partners! Laxman flicked a ball straight to Cowan at square leg and catch was smartly taken.

2:09pm
- The removal of Dravid still leaves Tendulkar as the main man. Laxman yet to get off the mark after facing seven balls. Very interesting that Michael Clarke had strong words with Pattinson straight after his wicket. Just a reminder to him to keep his head down perhaps.

1:58pm - WICKET!
Pattinson takes down Dravid's pegs! What a ball. A cracking delivery that tore through the Indian veteran's defences. And, rightfully, the Victorian is pumped in his home Test.

1:50pm
- The Little Master is really making his mark. He has raced to 15 not out from just 22 balls. Could the Tendulkar-Dravid combination prove Australia's undoing? The storyline is set up for Sachin to reach triple figures and guide them to victory. India at 2/55 in the 19th over. Watch this space.

1:28pm
- The great Sachin Tendulkar comes to the wicket. First ball and the Little Master delivers a classic cover drive. It doesn't go to the boundary but there's three runs straight up.

1:25pm - WICKET!
Another breakthrough for Australia. Siddle strikes this time, a cutting delivery finding Gambhir's edge and a regulation catch was safely taken by Ricky Ponting at second slip. The game takes another twist.

1:14pm
- The interval is over, back with the grind. Very handy start for India in the first over after lunch, Dravid drives a boundary from Hilfy's final delivery. That came after four leg byes from the previous delivery. All valuable runs.

12:34pm
- That's lunch. India reaches 1/24 chasing a more-than-tricky 292 for victory. Sehwag a big wicket for Australia but, gee whiz, the tourists have a deep batting line-up. Grab a drink and lunch everyone. We're set for a huge middle session as part of a compelling fourth day. Be back with you after the break.

12:20pm - WICKET!
And it's Sehwag who's out. The swashbuckling opener swashes a shot to the gully region and the catch is snapped up by Mike Hussey. Ben Hilfenhaus grabs another wicket to follow-up from his five-for in the first innings. Outstanding catch from Hussey in the fifth slip spot (approximately).

12:13pm
- Bit of everything in the start to India's innings. No Sehwag fireworks just yet. Bit of a verbal clashe between Hilfenhaus and Gambhir after the Indian opener pulled away late and the bowler had to withdraw from his delivery. All nice ingredients for a pulsating finish to this Test match.

11:59am
- India's innings is underway. For those who have any interest in the outcome of the Sydney-to-Hobart protest (are you out there anyone?) we haven't heard any news yet. An 'international jury' is still weighing up the allegation from the race's committee's about the winner's tactics.

11:46am - WICKET!
India finally snares the final Australian wicket. Hilfenhaus is the last man gone for a handy 14 runs. Pattinson earns not out honours for both innings in this match. The final partnership put on 43 runs. What an intriguing finish we are left with. India to chase 292 for victory.

11:40am
- Overall lead extends beyond 280 runs. This is getting to a critical stage for India. Let's take a look at the statistics. The tourists are getting towards a figure that would be the highest successful fourth innings chase in nearly 60 years. South Africa managed 4-297 back in 1953 ...

11:34am
- That's drinks. Australia has put on 50 runs in the hour's play. Critical runs being accrued by the home side. Will we yet see a fifth day's play at the MCG? Perhaps that wishful (or perverse) thinking.

11:29am
- Pattinson is the man, reaching his highest first class score (32 not out). The paceman just looks remarkably composed at the crease. India may yet rue a dropped catch in the outfield earlier this morning when Pattinson hooked a delivery only for the tricky chance to be dropped at fine leg.

11:14am -
Pattinson playing a great low order knock here. He's raced to 17 not out with no more batsmen waiting in the changerooms. Each run could be incredibly valuable for Australia. Overall lead hovering around the 260 mark.

11:00am - WICKET!
Hussey is gone this time. India gets one of the two wickets they desperately crave. Terrific delivery from Zaheer Khan that left Hussey tight and he nicked the ball through to 'keeper Dhoni. It was just short of a length and the Australian feathered the ball. Out for 89 runs. Great knock under adversity.

10:55am - How the tide turns .... Indians go up for and appeal with Hussey seemingly tickling a Yadav delivery down the leg side and caught by Dhoni. Umpire Marais Erasmus gives the decision NOT OUT but the Hot Spot video review shows the Australian just got bat to the ball. There's no DRS .... no review for the tourists. That evens up the equation for Hussey after his first innings howler!

10:43am
- A steady start by Australia. They've added eight runs in three overs. Pattinson left one delivery from Yadav that rocketed back at him and caught him flush on the thigh above the pads ... too close to the sensitive region for my liking.

10:32am
- We're underway in bright conditions at the MCG. James Pattinson is at the striker's end. He's three not out. Mike Hussey (79 not out) is eyeing off what would be an incredibly satisfying century.

10:12am
- Some big off-field news is coming through. Shane Watson has been released to go home and 'continue his rehab program'. He's not officially out of contention for next week's SCG Test but his chances are slim. The all-rounder has been in camp with the Australian side this week as he recovers from hamstring and calf injuries which also caused him to miss the two-Test series against New Zealand.

10:02am
- Good morning everyone. It's Scott Spits here taking over from Rohan Connolly for the fourth day's play at the MCG. And what a cracking day's play it should be. We're likely to get a winner today. But the intriguing question is just what target will prove beyond India's reach. Not out batsman Mike Hussey will need valuable support from the Aussie tail to ensure the target is large.

Melbourne: Dec 27, 2011
India reached 99 at the loss of two wickets at tea on the second day in reply to Australia's first innings total of 333.
Virender Sehwag slammed his 31st Test half-century but fell just before the tea break in the opening Test against Australia at Melbourne.
India trail by a further 234 runs with Rahul Dravid (25 not out) and Sachin Tendulkar (2 not out) at the crease.
India, after making a steady start in their innings, lost both their openers in the second session. Australia pacer Ben Hilfenhaus provided his side the first breakthrough when he had Gautam Gambhir caught by wicketkeeper Brad Haddin for three.
Sehwag then joined forces with Rahul Dravid and added 75 runs for the third wicket. The right-handed explosive batsman completed his half-century with a boundary off spinner Nathan Lyon. His half-century came in just 59 balls.
Sehwag scored 67 off 83 balls, which included seven boundaries.
Dravid, on the other hand, faced some difficulties during his stay at the crease as he was beaten several times by bounce and swing.
Brief Scores: Australia 333 (Ed Cowan 68, Ricky Ponting 62, Peter Siddle 41; Zaheer Khan 4 for 77, R Ashwin 3 for 81, Umesh Yadav 3 for 106) lead India 99 for 2 (Virender Sehwag 67, Rahul Dravid 25*; James Pattinson 1 for 25, Ben Hilfenhaus 1 for 27) by 234 runs.

BJP leaders wish Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 88th birthday wallpaper

December 25, 2011 - New Delhi

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders on Sunday wished former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 88th birthday.

BJP leaders Prakash Javadekar, Yashwant Sinha and Nitin Gadkari were among the first few people, who paid a visit to their leader.

BJP leaders Prakash Javadekar said that the ailing leader would ever remain a source of inspiration for them.

"Atal Bihar Vajpayee is receiving birthday wishes from all over the country. Everybody is wishing him good health. Atalji is the senior most leader of Bharatiya Janata Party and will always remain our inspiration," he told the media outside Vajpayee's residence.

BJP President Nitin Gadkari said that Vajpayee's birthday was being celebrated as a good governance day, as the nation still remembered his apt policies and decisions.

"We have decided to celebrate Atalji birthday as good governance day because the entire nation still remembers his governance policies when he was the prime minister during NDA's (National Democratic Alliance) regime. I will pray to god to bless him with a long life," he said.

Regarded as one of the pillars of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Vajpayee has been a stalwart in the Indian political arena for over six decades.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee served as the tenth Prime Minister of India three times - first for a brief term of 13 days in 1996, and then for two terms from 1998 to 2004.

After his first brief period as Prime Minister in 1996, Vajpayee headed a coalition government from 19 March 1998 until 19 May 2004. A parliamentarian for over four decades, Vajpayee was elected to the Lok Sabha a record nine times, and to the Rajya Sabha twice.

He served as the Member of Parliament for Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, until 2009, when he retired from active politics due to health concerns. He is a gifted orator and also a poet.

Vajpayee began his political career with the RSS, the ideological fountainhead of the BJP.

Born into an upper-caste family on December 25, 1924, Vajpayee was detained by police during a protest against British rule in 1942 and during emergency rule imposed by late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the 1970s.

A bachelor with two adopted daughters, he was elected to Parliament for the first time in 1957.

In May 1998, he stunned the world by announcing that India had broken a 24-year self-imposed moratorium by conducting underground nuclear tests.

I'm taking off the rest of the year for Christmas, but before I left I thought I'd share some of the funny Christmas-type pictures/cartoons that people have sent me. Thanks to all of you for sending them in, and have a wonderful Christmas...

Christmas Messages 2011 Merry Christmas

"Seasons Greetings." "Happy Holidays." "Merry Christmas." 'Peace On Earth." "Bah Humbug."

Goodness mercy me! I've spent literally hours looking for just the right greeting and that perfect image to include in my holiday message to family and friends, but it seems that no matter what I might say or how I say it I'm bound to offend "someone." In the meantime, the cards and emails keep coming: religious, funny, horsey, satirical, beautiful, not so beautiful, some with simple messages, some with dire warnings that I'd better be good or else.

None of these cards "offend" me. Quite the opposite, in fact. I'm profoundly touched that people take the time to send a greeting card of any kind - it could contain a few ashes and small twigs for all I care. At least I'm on somebody's list, so one way or the other they must be thinking about me. And each card usually produces more than a few flashbacks of delicious times together - the warm and fuzzy kind as well as the epicurean kind.

There's a lot I don't like about the holiday season, such as the shopping frenzies and the misguided notion that Christmas is all about gifts, but I unabashedly and wholeheartedly love the music, the classic kind, the kind that transports one's heart and soul to a realm of contentment and peace not found in many other places. NPR's classical music station has been offering a steady diet of traditional and incredibly beautiful Christmas music for over a week and my spirits simply soar with it.

So, when someone objects to another's Christmas card for whatever reason, it jars my senses and destroys my inner peace. I become not just offended, I resent the heck out of it. Where's the spirit of Christmas in this? Would Sarah Palin have objected less if the official White House card had looked like this 2004 card from George W. Bush?

Or, maybe this one from Reagan in 1989.

Or this one from Bush in 2005.

Oops! Maybe not. Poor Bo. He destroyed Christmas at the White House just by lying all snug and warm in front of a beautifully decorated fireplace while visions of sugarbones danced through his head.

Compared to most of the official White House cards, which can be found here, I frankly find this one pretty inviting. I just want to step into the picture, sit before the fire with Bo and enjoy the warmth of the Christmas spirit while listening to some beautiful choral music.

The spirit of Christmas and the holiday season means many different things to different people, of course, and that's as it should be. While I don't find offence with anyone's message or their method of celebration, I do become highly offended when the spirit of Christmas is sullied by politics or cheap criticism of another's message. This is a time to embrace our families and enjoy our friends, or if one's church is their center, to attend services of their choice. If religion plays a minimal role or no role at all, it is a time to share a family's love.

To me, the Christmas spirit is all about family. Music is a close second but my family ranks first and foremost when I think of the holiday season. We are a microcosm of society as a whole with no two of the many of us agreeing on much of anything. We're kind of like fruitcake as a matter of fact - lots of nuts and fruits of different flavors all held together by love in the form of sweet molasses and a little flour. As we "cure", we grow stronger and sweeter and our many flavors are enhanced and multiplied. My family is the center of my universe and my reason for being. I wish all of you large doses of love and hopes for a very merry Christmas.

Friends - in real life and those I've met through blogging and on Facebook - are the spirits which just keep on giving - all year long. I'm happy to say we don't always agree on everything either. How dull would that be? Your gifts of knowledge which you so willingly share, your challenges to my way of thinking that may, or may not, bring me around to your way of thinking, your friendship and support are the best gifts a blogger can receive. I wish all of you a warm and wonderful holiday season.

I wish to share the last part of Amazing Peace: A Christmas Poem by Maya Angelo. This is a very moving poem and was first read at the 2005 White House tree-lighting ceremony.
It is Christmas time, a halting of hate time.
On this platform of peace, we can create a language
to translate ourselves to ourselves and to each other.
At this Holy Instant, we celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ
Into the great religions of the world.
We jubilate the precious advent of trust.
We shout with glorious tongues the coming of hope.
All the earth’s tribes loosen their voices to celebrate the promise of
Peace.
We, Angels and Mortals, Believers and Nonbelievers,
Look heavenward and speak the word aloud.
Peace.
We look at our world and speak the word aloud.
Peace.
We look at each other, then into ourselves,
And we say without shyness or apology or hesitation:
Peace, My Brother.
Peace, My Sister.
Peace, My Soul

Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth celebrates his 62st birthday Wallpaper pictures

Superstar Rajinikanth celebrates his 62st birthday. Despite being a stunning universal superstar, he is known for his extreme simplicity, respect to elders and god-fearing attitude. Even one of the interviews regarding Enthiran for the next thing he is planning he was observed to show a gesture 'All credits to God'.http://www.rajinikanth.com/rajini9.jpg

That humility and god-fearing attitude is the one taking him to high peaks, fortifying him like anything and the gestures of which we should learn from him.

Let us join him to wish 'Many Many Happy Returns Of The Day'. Enjoy Maadi!
On Monday, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth was not only trending on Twitter but in various parts of Bangalore, as his fans celebrated his 62nd birthday.
For Rajini Murugan, a diehard Rajini fan for 25 years, Monday was a special day packed with memorable action from morning to evening. Karnataka State Rajini Seva Samithi, the NGO Murugan launched to help poor and downtrodden, distributed 101 sarees to poor women and about 500 notebooks to students of the corporation school in Gavipuram, where Rajinikanth studied.

“We had a special pooja in his name at Gavi Gangadhara temple in the morning. Later we distributed sweets to several thousand people,” explained Murugan who has acted with Rajini in his blockbuster movie Sivaji. On December 14, the association will also distribute tricycles to the differently-abled at the Town Hall.
The Karnataka State Rajinikanth Fans Welfare Association prayed for his good health and engaged in social work. The association’s advisor Praveen M S said, “We arranged for food at the Infant Jesus Orphanage in Cox Town for 100 students. A menu of pulao and sweets brought light and happiness on the faces of students.”
The superstar’s cut outs were garlanded in front of theatres in various parts of the city. Rajini fans in the city plan to be a part of a big birthday bash for the star in Chennai on Tuesday.

TRENDS ON TWITTER
Twitter and Facebook went viral with fans wishing “Dear birthday, happy Rajinikanth to you” -- exemplifying Rajinikanth’s superhero status. Rajini clearly overshadowed the birthday celebrations of cricketer Yuvraj Singh.
“Now you know birthdays don’t really make you a superhero. It’s just within him -- Rajini sir rocks,” Arun P posted on his Facebook wall.
“Happy birthday to the one and only Rajinikanth ... There was one and there will be none like him. We are blessed to be in the same planet he lives in!” Yasmeen tweeted.
Happy Birthday, Rajinikanth: five reasons why you rock

Rajinikanth is many things, but above all, real. In his interviews, he neither plays the lofty thespian a la Amitabh Bachchan nor the super-cool kid like Shah Rukh Khan.

‘Rajini thanks me for flogging him’

R Sathyanarayana Rao the elder brother of Rajinikanth, recalled about the actor’s ‘mischievous’ side.

"Rajani was very mischievous in his childhood. However, while working as a BMTC conductor he turned alcoholic. One day, upset over this I flogged him. Later I felt very bad. But today he proudly says that because of that flogging, he has become Rajini. On every birthday, I call him
up and wish him."

Several websites wrongly display that Rajinikanth’s birthdate is in March, according to Rao. He said that Rajani was born on December 12, 1950, at 9:45 pm. Next year it turns out to be yet another big day for Rajani as his birthday falls on 12-12-12. His family members and fans in Bangalore plan a mega celebration on this occasion.

Dhoni wishes Yuvraj, Rajinikanth on their birthdays

Chennai: India cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Monday wished teammate Yuvraj Singh and actor Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, both of whom are celebrating their birthdays.

"I wish them the very best on their birthdays. Yuvraj has done well and credited himself superbly in all formats of the game", said Dhoni.

"Rajini Sir is from South India and he is one of the leading actors (in the country) and has also achieved laurels in his field. I wish both of them", said Dhoni before his team's departure to Australia for the four-match Test series, starting later this month.

Yuvraj, who turned 30 today, is currently not a part of the national cricket team as he has been recovering from non-malignant tumour in his lung. The left-hander, however, is targeting his return to international cricket during the tri-series in Australia, to be held from February 2012.

Yuvraj, who was adjudged Man-of-the-Tournament for his brilliant performance in the ICC World Cup that India won earlier this year, made his first appearance for the country in 2000 and since then has played in 274 ODIs, 37 Tests and 23 Twenty20 Internationals.

Rajinikanth turned 62 and is recuperating from a kidney ailment.

With the world becoming tech savvy, the Institute realized that there was a need to adopt advanced processes of applying and receiving applications for jobs. Since 2006 IBPS has successfully introduced online receipt of applications with intimations through email or SMS. Additionally Bilingual Applications, Photo/ Signature/ Biodata upload are possible as per client requirements. Today almost 90 percent of the applications are received in this mode and this method is successful even with rural applicants. The handset initially arrived in the Taiwanese market on Friday, with the following days to follow the device as it hits the shores of Singapore, Hong Kong, India and Russia, and a global release that will start in the upcoming weeks.

Nokia Lumia 710 is likely to come with a price tag worth €270 (exclusive of local taxes and subsidies) and black and white flavors for the front cover.

NASA video Explains 2011 Lunar Eclipse December 10 second lunar eclipse for 2011 which will occur on December 10

The NASA video below tells everything you need to know about the December 10, 2011 lunar eclipse in 3 1/2 minutes.

This is the second lunar eclipse for 2011 which will occur on December 10.

For those living on the U.S. east coast, including Brevard County, Florida, the moon will set around 7:01 a.m. EST on December 10 before the full eclipse occurs.

The December 2011 lunar eclipse will reach full eclipse at 7:32 a.m. EST, and last 51 minutes.

Most Floridians, except those in the westernmost areas of the Florida panhandle, will also not be able to see the 2011 December lunar eclipse.

For U.S. sky watchers west of the Mississippi, the lunar eclipse will offer a spectacular copper red (sometimes referred to as blood red) lunar eclipse.

This lunar eclipse is rare in that a selenelion will occur, where viewers will be able to observe the lunar eclipse while also watching the sun rise from the east.

This rare optical illusion is caused by the refraction of light in the Earth's atmosphere, which will also make both the sun and 2011 lunar eclipse appear larger.

If that wasn't rare enough, add to it the 2011 Geminid Meteor Shower which peaks on December 13, 2011, and can be seen from anywhere in the continental U.S., Alaska, and Hawaii.

Although the best viewing time of the Geminid meteor shower is between 12am and 2pm, some lucky viewers may catch a lunar eclipse, a selenelion, and straggling predawn Geminid shooting stars all at the same time.

But Brevard County residents won't be left empty handed, as the International Space Station will pass overhead on December 10, 2011 at 5:33 a.m. along with a full moon and the 2011 Geminid Meteor Shower.

Bradley Cooper has revealed that he thinks being tagged as the 'Sexiest Man Alive' is rather "awful", as it actually makes him aware of how "not sexy" he actually is.The 'Limitless' star was recently awarded the coveted title by People magazine."It's the worst. Oh, it's just so awful. I'm finally at an age - I'm 36 years old - where I really don't care about anything like that anymore, which is wonderful thing, and then it happened. And then I started to realise just how not sexy I am," Contactmusic quoted him as telling The Graham Norton Show."I have a lot of moments where I'm walking out and I'll open up the door and think to myself, 'I could do that a lot sexier'," he said. However, the 36-year-old heartthrob thinks that the honour should have been handed to 'The Notebook' star Ryan Gosling."He literally looks like he's in a photo shoot, like he just came off the runway. I literally look like the neighbour who never comes really out of his house," he added.

Ben10 ultimate alien game Calling all fanatics

CALLING all Ben 10 fans! Fancy yourself a Ben 10 follower of note? Think you could easily answer questions like, what is Ben 10’s full name? Okay, so that’s an easy one.

What about when exactly did the Omnitrix evolve into the Ultimatrix? Or what about someone like Vilgax from way back when – did he have “real” powers, or is his size and strength a freak accident?

Well, if you think you’d breeze through similar questions, you might want to tune into Cartoon Network on Fridays for the Ben 10 Ultimate Challenge – a game show/ challenge that will see ardent Ben 10 followers battle it out for the title of “Ultimate Fan”.

It was six years ago that young audiences were first introduced to Master Benjamin Tennyson (famously known as Ben 10) – a mostly smug and immature boy, but with a lot of heart and of loyal character.

Today the highly popular Ben 10 TV series has evolved into a mass franchise including films, video games, retail merchandise and now the Ben 10 Ultimate Challenge.

This weekend saw the launch of the challenge which is the next in the evolution of Ben 10, the boy (now a teenager) who acquired a watch-like alien device which allows him to turn into an alien creature, in the battle against good and evil, of course.

With three series under the Ben 10 banner – Ben 10, Ben 10: Alien Force and Ben 10: Ultimate Alien – the Ben 10 Ultimate Challenge is set to be vital viewing for anyone want-ing to earn the title of Ultimate Fan.

All content in the game show is inspired by the three aforementioned animation series. The show takes on a format that sees young-sters tasked with Ben 10 general knowledge rounds, as well as physical and mental agility tests and an ambitious assault course.

The Ben 10-themed set is located in a 743m2 London studio.

The series’ executive producer is Daniel Marlowe (Big Brother) and it is produced by Mandy Morris (Dating in the Dark, My Camp Rock and Safari Eight).

Michael Carrington, the chief content officer for Turner Broadcasting, said: “We are thrilled that Ben 10 has reached a point where it merits its own spin-off show based on the popular and much-loved series.

“The show will be a fantastic way for Ben 10 fans to pit their knowledge about their favourite hero against each other.”

Watch the Ultimate Challenge for the next step in the Ben 10 evolution with live action, fun, heart and brain power, promising to make for adrenalin-packed entertainment.
