Born under the star sign of Scorpio, this baby was destined to conquer the hearts of the Hindi movie buffs.

Tulu is the mother tongue of Aishwarya, as she belongs to the Bunt community of southern India. However, she has fluent control over multiple languages such as Hindi, English, Kannada, Tamil and Urdu.

Aishwarya's childhood
During her teenage she underwent extensive training in classical dancing for five years. This was to prove as an invaluable asset during her acting career. The élan and grace she brought to the dancing sequences in her movies are unparallel. “Taal” and “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” are good examples.

Following her predecessors of the fashion industry, Aishwarya soon tried her hands in the world of silver screen. Her first movie was Iruvar, in Tamil. It released in the year 1997 and directed by none other than the master film director Maniratnam. However the film couldn’t do well at the box office.

She went on to act in big budget films such as “Jeans” and “Aur Pyar Ho Gaya”. But both the films turned out to be a dud at the box office. These raised serious questions about her acting abilities and her career as an actress was at stake, but she won over her critics with sheer hard work and brilliant performances.

The film “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” exploded on the big screen in the year 1999 and turned out to be the biggest grosser of the year. Aishwarya starred in the movie along with actors Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali creation propelled the sagging career of Aishwarya to dizzying heights.

It was at this time that Bollywood woke up to the news of beautiful Aishwarya being in love with her co star Salman Khan. The news soon spread like wild fire through the grape vines of tinsel town. At the time Aishwarya was also scaling new heights on the professional front and numerous hits went on to establish her as the numero uno in the film industry.

However this relation was short lived. After a turbulent break up with Salman Khan, the actress was soon associated with a new entrant of Bollywood. The entrant was none other than the promising actor Vivek Oberoi. This too was a short lived affair as the couple silently part their ways. Aishwarya was never again seen onscreen with the actors Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi.

She is the second Indian actress after Parveen Babi to grace the cover of prestigious TIMES magazine. The TIMES magazine issue was released in the year 2003.

Aishwarya even appeared in the popular “Oprah Winfrey Show” in the year 2005. She fascinated the host and no doubt attracted the attention that she deserves.

In the same year 2005 the world witnessed the line of Barbie dolls launched that were inspired by her and her get ups. This limited edition dolls are now treated as a prized possession.
