Story: Love Breakups Zindagi is the story of a bunch of people, namely Jai (Zayed Khan), Naina (Dia Mirza), Govind (Cyrus Sahukar), Sheela (Tisca Chopra), Arjun (Satyadeep Mishra) and Gayatri (Auritra Ghosh) and their perception about true love. While Jai is already unsure about his current relationship, Naina has learnt to compromise with the little her relationship has offered her so far. Govind being a divorcee (twice), has a colourful past and has accepted his present. Sheela, the eldest of them all, unable to find her Mr.Perfect, is still single. Arjun and Gayatri have found true love in each other and are all set to marry. Whether each of these individuals will continue with their present status or meet their respective Mr. and Ms. Perfect, is the rest of the story.

Story Treatment: Born Free Entertainment’s first ever production, Love Breakups Zindagi is a sheer example of one of those films, which bursts out of the candy floss mould, with no endeavors of adding substance. What adds on to one’s misery is the fact that besides its run of the mill storyline, is the extremely stretched screenplay. The jazzy wedding sequences and absolutely dull conversations between the characters gives the flick its first blow. The predictable bits post the interval, further irritate with some completely illogical portions like one can’t move the car for hours together, as a dog is sitting in the middle of the road and he can’t be disturbed. The climax is over dramatic and flashes the memories of uncountable romantic films seen in the past.

Star Cast: Zayed Khan looks uncomfortable at some places, but most of his are good. Dia Mirza is fine and gives quite a consistent performance. Cyrus Sahukar delivers a flawless performance with excellent comic-timing. Tisca Chopra, is top-notch as usual with a very pleasant appearance. Satyadeep Mishra and Auritra Ghosh complement each other as a couple and deliver their best. Vaibhav Talwar as Dia’s boyfriend and a hard-core practical man is convincing.

Direction: Sahil Sangha as a director induces some life in the film, but can’t make his film sail through due to a poor script. What’s rather surprising is the fact that Sahil, being the producer, hasn’t done much thinking at the scripting stage. As a director though, he is quite good at churning out some good performances from his actors. But, that doesn’t work either, courtesy the higly non-impressive dialogues.

Music/ Cinematography/ Dialogues/Editing: Music is the lifeline of the movie. Especially ‘Rab Rakha’ and the background score by Salim-Suleiman makes the film quite tolerable. Cinematography too, is good and acts as the strength of the film. Dialogues lack punch. Editing is lacking at some places and Sahil as a director, has been completely unable to guide his editor to remove some unnecessary shots.

3 Ups and 3 Downs: Music, performances and direction are strong points to some extent. Poor storyline, non-impactful dialogues and editing are weak points.

On the whole, Love Breakups Zindagi is a poor affair right from the word go and can be tolerated only for the feel good factor it offers. Go and catch it at your own risk.
