Satish Kumar Arya is a celebrity now, thanks to his super performance in the hit quiz show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, hosted by actor Amitabh Bachchan. Arya, a resident of Mandideep Road, not just won Rs 12.5 lakh from the show but also became the first contestant to win Rs 6.5 lakh without using a single lifeline this season.A contestant gets four lifelines (Phone a Friend, Audience Poll, Expert Advice and Double Dip) during his attempt to win the maximum amount from the show.
Arya said that his stint at various jobs and his fondness for news helped him in acquiring general knowledge.
“The nights of September 28 and 29 were nerve-wracking. I knew the whole country would be watching me. And to top it all, superstar Amitabh Bachchan was in front of me asking the questions,” he said.
“I was nervous but Big B really helped me clam my nerves. He kept reassuring me and egged me on,” he added.
“The next question after I won Rs 12.5 lakh was very tough. And the risk did not seem worth taking. So I quit,” said Arya.
